Please share a bit about your background and how you got started in photography? How long have you been a photographer?

10 incredible years in weddings! It all began in 2015 when a property maintenance manager was given a camera by the boss to photograph buildings and team events. However, my newborn daughter unknowingly redirected that path, leading to a passion for capturing people—happy people at weddings. And the rest is history.

Who are some of your favorite photographers?

My favorite photographers are those who don’t overthink or overdo their shots and edits—the simpler, the better. Dedication to the craft is key! After all, photographers play an essential role in documenting memories for others.

As for specific inspirations:

  • Kristen Marie Parker (editing style)
  • Samm Blake (simplicity)
  • Dan O’Day (capturing moments)
  • Svenja Petersen (attitude)
  • House of Lucie (color correction & elegance)
  • Cara Mia (vibe & details)

What is the best part about being a photographer? What is the most challenging part of being a photographer?

The best part? Easy! The lifestyle and freedom—the ability to organize one’s own life every day, choose the people to spend time with, and decide who to work with and where. Creative industries are particularly rewarding because they offer the freedom to say no, a luxury many people don’t have since decisions are often made for them. But not here!

However, it can also be a lonely profession. There are days when one would do anything to connect with colleagues, especially during the off-season. That’s why maintaining good mental health—and taking care of the body—is so important.

Every client is unique. How do you tailor your approach to photography to reflect the individuality of each client/event you photograph?

Mood boards! They are the easiest and fastest way to understand someone’s vision. Seeing a client’s ideas helps a photographer adapt—just like in the fashion industry, where mood boards and other sources of inspiration are essential. The same concept applies to weddings.

While it’s not possible to match every style perfectly, mood boards help photographers better understand their clients and make subtle adjustments—almost like a chameleon.

Another key factor is the portfolio. The more precise and up-to-date a photographer’s portfolio is—whether on a website or Instagram—the easier it is for clients to make a decision. A well-curated portfolio increases the chances of aligning with a client’s mood board.

What would you say is the most important marketing strategy for your business?

Exposure is key! Being visible on Google search, blogs, directories, Instagram—everywhere. There isn’t just one typical channel for brides to find a photographer; they come from many different sources. In the long run, SEO plays the biggest role, while Instagram is more effective for short-term visibility. TikTok is often said to be the next big thing, but whether or not to pursue it is still up for debate.

The most important strategy? Keep working in a direction that feels right, and success will follow. A simple rule, but one that works in any business.

How has Impossible Things (IT) AI Photo Editing benefited your business?

Impossible Things AI Photo Editing simply saves me time. I can focus more on business and family.

I love that Impossible Things are not overdoing it with my editing presets. It makes just the right amount of basic edits where I can fine tune each and every photo with a few short steps. And it’s cheaper than other mainstream photo editing apps, if you know what I mean.

What is your current workflow with Impossible Things, and how has it improved?

I’ve fine-tuned 4-5 of my presets with Impossible Things, so it’s pretty easy for me. Typically, I select around 1000-1200 files out of 5000-7000 raw files. 30% out of 1000-1200 for B&W editing and all the rest is for colour edits. I always start with the B&W, as I believe these images will be the most important for my portfolio, and only after that I edit colour images. Easy!

Before/After

Do you have recommendations for users who are considering Impossible Things?

Try different presets with your work and don’t forget that there are possibilities to create multiple presets for different lighting conditions. For example: harsh light, rainy days, golden hour, flash, etc.

What is your favorite Impossible Things feature and why?

Skin & face retouch. It saves time and clients are happy even though they don’t know about this feature.
