Introducing Helios, our next-generation AI editing engine.
HELIOS delivers everything you could want from a next-generation AI editing engine — it’s fast, more accurate, and more consistent. The key is in how HELIOS understands your photos. It’s light years smarter.
Instead of looking at every image the same way, HELIOS first recognizes the conditions in which it was captured. It understands the light, how that light falls across the frame, and the color of the light. And with Learn, HELIOS also learns how you edit — so the more it learns, the more your edits become genuinely yours.
HELIOS UNDERSTANDS EVERY PHOTO
HELIOS was trained to look at a photo the way you do. It sees past the pixels to the light, the mood, and what the finished image should feel like.
It doesn’t rely on a single model. Every photo is read by a team of specialized models working together. One sets the overall color and tone of the edit. Others are dedicated to white balance and exposure, the two settings that make or break a photo. It’s like having several expert editors agree on every photo before it reaches you.
And HELIOS doesn’t stop at the single photo. As it works through a shoot, it remembers what it has seen, so two frames shot seconds apart get nearly identical edits. It also checks its own work: as more of the shoot comes in, it goes back and refines the photos it edited earlier. Your gallery gets more consistent as it goes, not less.
LEARN MAKES HELIOS YOURS
HELIOS comes pre-tuned to deliver great results from your very first edit, with no learning required. Learn is for when you want it to edit like you.
HELIOS understands the photograph. Learn teaches HELIOS how you would edit it.
Learn works on any photos you’ve already edited — old jobs and past catalogs included, not only photos HELIOS edited first. HELIOS compares what it would have done with what you actually did, learns the difference, and files it across four key dimensions:
The lighting conditions.
Dozens of lighting situations, from bright open sun and golden hour to dim receptions and strong backlight. Flash and natural light are kept apart.
How the light falls across the frame.
Nearly thirty exposure patterns, so a backlit portrait, a hard-shadow frame and an evenly lit one are all treated differently.
The color of the light.
Nearly 30 white-balance situations, from tungsten and fluorescent light to cool shade, overcast skies, and warm golden hour.
The camera you used.
Learn remembers how and why you treat your Canon differently from your Sony, or your main body differently from your second.
Brighter receptions, a warmer golden hour, a second camera body that always needs a touch more exposure — Learn remembers each preference and applies it only where it belongs.
EVERY EDIT STARTS WITH HELIOS — AND ENDS WITH YOU
When HELIOS encounters a new image, it first makes its own prediction. Then Learn adds YOU.
Situations and cameras you’ve taught it well receive your full correction. Similar situations get a subtle adjustment in your direction. And anything you haven’t taught it yet relies on the intelligence of the underlying HELIOS engine.
Learn doesn’t replace HELIOS. It personalizes it. As HELIOS continues to improve, your Learn profile continues to work on top of it.
